Where to stay in New York in 2021? While New York has a lot of options to offer, we wanted to try something classy. Today we are reviewing a luxury hotel called Gild Hall, a Thompson Hotel. It’s a top location on Wall St, the heart of Financial District of Manhattan, New York. It’s very convenient for both business travelers and those exploring the Big Apple. Watch for yourself what a luxury suite looks like. If you prefer to watch the video, we’ll also take you on a city tour, Times Square and Rockefeller Rink.

Date of stay: January, 2021

Room Type: King Suite

Now prices start at approximately $129 per night for a standard King Room up to approximately $2500 per night for a Penthouse Suite (off-season).

PROS
  • Unique classy room design with leather furniture, hardwood floors, custom bed, leather headboard, unique artwork by Slim Aarons and so much more

  • Specious room, especially for New York area. Our suite is advertised as 560 sq. feet. (It had a separate living room with a wet bar, bedroom and bathroom)

  • Wet bar with a small fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee-maker (complimentary coffee and tea)

  • Luxury high quality bathrobes and slippers (upon request)

  • The bed and mattress were really good. High quality linens

  • Convenient breakfast in-room delivery

  • Amazing city view.

  • Luxurious Bath amenities by D.S. & Durga

  • WI-FI is available at all areas and is free of charge.

  • The stuff was very nice.

CONS
  • Limited food options. Unfortunately, onsite Felice restaurant had temporally limited food service. Breakfast is served and delivered by a third-party virtual restaurant (you have to call or order through their website)

  • Paid parking valet only. Car/Sedan $55, SUV $65

  • No housekeeping (temporary restriction)

  • Gym closed (temporary restriction)

TIPS:
  • Pls ask for a city view room at check-in, some rooms may be dark.

  • Thompson Hotels are now part of Hyatt rewards program. The nights here count towards your elite status with Hyatt.

Overall experience: It was Good! We didn’t spend much time here, but its location was very convenient to explore Financial District, walk to the Charging Bull and then hop on a subway to Times Square with is approximately a 20 minutes ride. The rooms had a very nice heavy classy design which we really enjoyed. The wet bar was very handy to have some quick coffee and a small snack. We just wish the cleanliness and maintenance were improved.

It is perfect for a business traveler and tourists exploring old streets of Manhattan.

Why we created this Blog?

As we travel a lot, we started noticing that glossy advertisements and staged travel photos are sometimes far from reality. Even, the high price tag does not guarantee you’ll get what you paid for...
